I had never been in another country until the last year, when I have the opportunity to travel to Guatemala for conference in a beautiful place, full of love and peace that raised my heart and spirit, close me to God. But I will no talk about that beautiful place, that opportunity it was also for give me the chance to know other country, so that's why it was special moment, for both reasons.
Guatemala is a beautiful country and also is our country neighbor. So I made a travel by car, from El Salvador to Guatemala, this travel during like a 6 hours approx. The two nights that I spent there I felt like home, we are in Central America but even I saw similar cultures, I have to say that Guatemala have their identity, the way they speak they have a different accent, I saw many beautiful women dressed with colorful indigenous costumes that is something amazing, I have to say that even I born in a country where we are come from Indigenous ancestors, I had never saw indigenous women in person only by photos, I know is horrible because I would like we were proud of our roots.
I went to Xela, is a city that is known also as Quetzaltenango, Located 2,333 meters. Above sea level, with a freeze weather but with amazing blue sky, for me it was a perfect time, their structure is ancient and artistic, many churches, with a touch modern you will see many restaurants too. You will find marketplaces, their fruit is big and a great colors, there are many places nearby that sow vegetables, so they are producer and active.
If I had to describe this city in one sentence, I have to say "nice weather, kind people, rustic streets and artistic buildings, good food."
